Dragons:

In the old days, when the Gods were still young, they created dragons, to help them travel the world in a comfortable way. In their creation, they where all bound to and shaped by one of the elements, and thus it is that dragons are not that often seen by men.

The first dragons were all very wise and strong in magick, but when the shadow came, many of the older ones died and among the new born, magick became more rare.

Dragons are divided into two sexes, just as mankind. A female dragon usually gathers a herd of many male dragons around her, and she is considered with the utmost respect among the elder dragons. Though dragons are very independent creatures, a females wishes is followed.

However after the wars of power, female dragons have been very rare, and this has led to less dragons being born, and in some parts of the world they are close to extinct.

Dragons don’t die of age.

Earth Dragons

The dragons of earth live far beneath us, in the deep caves under ground. They feed on vegetables and different minerals in the mountain ground, their diet have been a cause of great problems for them through time, as man has sought them out, and tried to kill them for the precious stones that are created when these minerals are mixed and diggested by the great dragons stomaches. It is usual that these stones have different colours depending on how old the dragon is, and which of his five stomaches that has diggested his food.

Sea Dragons

The water dragons loves the deep oceans and sea’s, and can at times be seen by seamen who go far out on the deep ocean. Dragons are born from eggs, and when the female Sea dragons are to have children, she goes up on the coast to lay the eggs in the sand or earth.

Humans who have always been a pity race, afraid of what she does not understand, have far to often killed these female dragons and crushed the eggs, and this is why the younger sea dragons are a bit hostile towards humans and all of the small peoples.
It has happened that ships going to far out on the ocean have returned home crushed to pieces and without anyone left alive to tell of the catastrophy.

Sky Dragons

The dragons of the sky is the dragon kind that roams the air and are best suited for flying. Although all dragons of age can fly, sky dragons are the only ones who can travel in this way over greater distances.
The sky dragons of today build their homes in great mountains, as high up as they can come. They unlike travelling at land, their legs are not very far developed and thus not suited for walking to long.
It is said that the sky dragons back in the age of dreams used to build their homes in the clouds by magic means, a legend tells about a large and wonderfull city, that was built in the dragons time of glory that should still be hidden away somewhere in the clouds above us.

Fire Dragons

The red firebreathing dragons are feared and respected among all the races of Eld for their devastating powers. They live in volcanoes and deep within our earth, where they can find the heat and fire to sustain them. If they stay away from this their true element for longer than a night and a day they might accually die from loss of energy and strength.

Spirit Dragons

Spirit Dragons are the strangest and most mysterious of the dragons, unlike the other dragons they have no matter, but roams the astral planes and can at times be seen in our dreams.
When a Spirit dragon is born, it is born in the mind of a newborn child of another race, at a few times, these dragons have been born in humans, elvens and trolls.

The dragon and it’s host creature grows toghether, and their minds becomes entangled and affected by each other. Through out time, these people have been both worshipped almost as gods, and shunned and thrown out from their society. The host creatures of these dragons can live up to 700 years, depending on the time it takes for the dragon to become fullgrown, when this happens the host simply ceases to exist and the dragon is set free on the astral plane.
